British extreme metal band Carcass are teaming up with San Francisco black metal group Deafheaven for a co-headlining cross country trek this fall. Support on the tour will come from Inter Arma. Carcass have experienced a resurgence after disbanding between 1995-2007. Their remarkable 2013 comeback album, Surgical Steel, mixed the old with the new, and has since breathed life into their fans and gave the band much needed energy to crush the stage while on tour.
Deafheaven provides a contrasted balance to Carcass. Their dreamy soundscapes and trance-inducing metal should act almost as anesthesia before Carcass performs. They released their third album in 2015, New Bermuda, as a follow-up to the 2013 breakthrough album, Sunbather.
Inter Arma are promoting their third and newest album, Paradise Gallows, released in July earlier this year. It’s so sludgy and black, you might get a little dirty just listening to it.
