Pop-Punk nostalgia is coming to Central Florida as legends Bowling For Soup and Less Than Jake make a couple of pit stops on their “Back For The Attack Tour” at Jannus Live in St. Pete on July 22 (TICKETS HERE) and at House Of Blues Orlando July 23, 2022 (TICKETS HERE). Bowling For Soup has to be one of the most consistently funny bands ever, not even tied to the pop punk genre well known for not taking itself seriously. With their earnest youthfullness, smart writing, and ability to stay irrelevant, BFS has kept themselves together and beloved while constantly churning out hit after hit, such as “Girl All the Bad Guys Want,” “Alexa Bliss,” and “Ohio (Come Back To Texas).” But it’s not just their original songs that make it big! Their biggest song “1985,” is a cover! (SR-71 originally wrote and recorded it) And that other song you think is theirs? “Stacy’s Mom?” That’s a Fountains of Wayne song, but BFS finally decided to cover it as well, so everyone would be right. Less Than Jake are local heroes and rightfully so. They are one of the biggest bands to come out of Gainesville, with a score of hit albums, classic tracks, and an undeniable amazing live performance. Combining ska and power pop punk together in a way that always gets the crowd dancing the whole show, LTJ have been hitting the road and the airwaves to put smiles on faces for almost 30 years. Along the way, they’ve put together a discography that help them stand up as one of the best ska acts still kicking around, including “Johnny Quest Thinks We’re Selling Out,” “The Science of Selling Yourself Short,” and “All My Best Friends Are Metalheads.” Bring your skankin’ shoes and tie them tight, because you’ll be “picking it up” all night long!
