Inspired by the complexity of classical composers, these bands made music that was not only mosh worthy, but blazed a trail for future generations to explore this progressive and expressive new genre. The soul of prog rock is alive and well today in the calculated ferocity of the metal band Animals as Leaders. Animals as Leaders formed in Washington D.C. in the year 2007. Since their self-titled debut album in 2009, the band has hit the road nationally several times between 2010 and 2011, only to spread their musical endeavors across the pond in Europe throughout 2011 and 2012. The band released Weightless in 2011, The Joy of Motion in 2014, and The Madness of Many in 2016 which happened to reach number one on the U.S. Hard Rock Billboard charts. These Djent-lemen are hitting the road once again to promote their new album Parrhesia, some of their best work yet. To make the pot even sweeter, the equally heavy and styled band Intervals will also be playing alongside AAL, but don’t miss it!
