This show is significant for many reasons.

American Football has always played it a little coy when it comes to promoting themselves. A slight tease here and there; a website which held a mysterious countdown in 2014. (When the clock ran out, two show announcements went live.) For a band who only has two LP’s and one EP over the course of 20 years, they’ve amassed a large following. A very well-earned following.

AF has influenced many bands throughout the two decades they’ve been around.

Local Orlando sweethearts You Blew It! came out with this statement on their Facebook this past April:

“Three more.”

Last year we made the decision to put the band on hold while we focused on aspects of our personal lives. While we recognized that we would inevitably play shows again, we were unaware it would be this soon. Considering the importance American football played in the formation of, and influence on our band, we knew passing on the opportunity to play with them would forever rest in the back of our minds. Until we rest again, we’re thankful to have another opportunity to see you all once more.”

American Football has been on a bit of a break after their 2016 self-titled (LP2) record. However, they released a few Florida dates for this summer! What’s even more special about these Florida shows is the support of You Blew It!
