When I arrived to the House of Blues in Downtown Disney, I found a MASSIVE line wrapped around the building. Vinyl Theatre and MisterWives were opening for headliners Twenty One Pilots and I knew the unsuspecting crowd would surely be in for a show. I made my way into the venue as girls and guys sprinted by me to get to the front of the venue by the stage, I fed off their excitement and knew it was going to be a great evening.
About a half an hour later, the four guys from Milwaukee, Wisconsin took the stage named Vinyl Theatre. From the first measure they played, I was hooked. Blending their pop rock sound with an all-to-familiar electronic feel that they recreated live, I was instantly impressed. How comfortable they were on stage together translated very well through their overall energetic stage presence.
At times they reminding me of a band I used to listen to called The Morning Light, which is a very good thing. The crowd clearly enjoyed them too, based on the kids singing along and movement in the audience. Fortunately, when you play a sold out show at House of Blues, you’re almost guaranteed to gain some fans, especially if you’re talented and put on a hell of a show. At the end of the evening Vinyl Theatre sure as hell added some new fans to their fan base in Orlando.
They played a fun, sweet, and short set of songs from their upcoming album titled Electrogram which is coming out September 23rd. I was able to snag the cd a few days earlier at the merch table and it was the best 5 dollars I’ve spent all month. I am in love with their single “Breaking Up My Bones,” check it out below.
I see these guys exploding onto the scene sooner rather than later.
