INTERVIEW: She Wants Revenge is back to “Tear You Apart”

We sat down with She Wants Revenge for an exclusive interview right before they kicked off their “Debut Album 10 Year Anniversary Tour” at the House of Blues in Orlando, Florida. Forgoing the typical band on vacation model, SWR offered a special meet and greet for fans during sound check. While families take turns taking pics with the band, it is apparent the band’s audience and demographics have definitely grown in the decade since their self-titled debut release.

Adam Bravin of She Wants Revenge graciously sat down for an interview with ShowsIGoTo.com to discuss their current tour.

She Wants Revenge 2016 Interview:

SIGT: How did the 10th anniversary tour come about?

Adam, She Wants Revenge: “Not too long ago, Lady Gaga contacted us and asked us if it would be okay to use our song on an upcoming episode of American Horror Story. She reached out and asked if there was a censored of “Tear You Apart,” which there wasn’t. We went into the studio and made one. We didn’t know what it was going to be used for and suddenly it was the opening for the new season American Horror Story: Hotel. The song, it sparked something we never expected: This resurgence of She Wants Revenge. We were on the radio again with all of these new fans, based on this one song. This momentum started brewing and then we realized, it was the tenth anniversary of the album.”

“We said okay, let’s do a few shows in LA just to celebrate the album’s anniversary and play it in it’s entirety, something which have never done before live. We had so much fun, we decided, why not go out of the road and do the same thing. We both (Adam and Justin) subscribe to the philosophy, when something is happening and there is momentum in your life, you just have to roll with it and see what happens.”

SIGT: Any surprises planned for the tour?

She Wants Revenge: “Some of the surprises will happen in the second half of the set and will probably change from city to city. Maybe we will just pull some songs out of a hat … or use an all-black wheel.”

SIGT: With the release of the new single “Never,” can we look forward to a new album?

She Wants Revenge: “It was on my birthday, we never planned on making any more music. We decided why not go into the studio and see what happens. We had no idea of whether we would walk out with half a song, no song, or something. In a few hours, we had it [“Never”]. We knew we wanted it to sound closer to the first album and found our way back to that sound while recording.”

SIGT: After doing the tour, are there plans to record a new album?

She Wants Revenge: “There are no plans for another album. There were no plans for the tour or plans record the single. So, we’ll leave it there for now.”

SIGT:  Anything else you want to share with your fans and our readers?

She Wants Revenge: “How happy we are, for two guys in the beginning making music we never expected others to hear. For all these people to come out, appreciate what we do, and support us, we just want them to know how grateful we are to be able to do these kinds of things. If it wasn’t for them, there would be no way we could do this. We aren’t U2, we aren’t a big band with unlimited funds, we have normal lives and do what we do in life individually. The only way this works is if there is demand, and that demand comes from the fans. Thank you.”
