Jessica Hernandez is part of The Bad Girl’s Club. Not the made for reality television version of the Bad Girl’s Club, but the I do what I want, turn dealing with the consequences into a song rather than apologize, have more fun with my music than anyone, and look great performing it member of the real life Rock N Roll Bad Girl Club. As bandleader, singer and only female member — thus the only “Bad Girl”– of the self-named Jessica Hernandez & the Deltas Jessica successfully bears the responsibility of Front Woman by delivering performances packed with a combination of talent and charisma; a powerhouse voice with range and a personality of its own and that Bad Girl charm and attitude capable of carrying it.

Having seen it in action the last time the band played Orlando, I can say the energy of the live show may be the best aspect of Jessica Hernandez & the Deltas‘ performance. No live music show would be possible without the music though and Jessica Hernandez & The Delta’s brand of pop, soul, rock with a throwback nod to ’50s/’60s era rockabilly and doo-wop is a strong foundation from which to build that energy upon. Their music is the type that gives an audience an experience to feed on, respond to and dance to, live or recorded. In fact, listening to their latest full length release Secret Evil in the car made me want to dance while driving, the subject matter and delivery of Jessica Hernandez’s songs fueled the potential danger of it even more. It may be hazardous to listen to Jessica Hernandez & the Delta’s music. However, missing it entirely may be even more dangerous for a music lover.

Jessica Hernandez & the Delta’s play The Social in downtown Orlando on Thursday November fifth and will be joined by another band with a powerhouse female front woman, The Sh-Booms and the always energetic throwback rock n roll action of The Woolly Bushmen.
