TICKET GIVEAWAY: Incubus + Deftones + Death From Above 1979 + The Bots | Coming to MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre | August 13, 2015

You will definitely be “A Certain Shade of Green” when everyone else is at the Incubus and Deftones show on August 13, 2015 in Tampa while you are not! (win tickets below). I’ve been an avid fan of Incubus since S.C.I.E.N.C.E. and although I was a bit younger when the album came out, my entire being knew it was beautiful music. I’ve seen Incubus two times in the past six years; Tampa in 2011 and Radio City Music Hall in 2009.

When I saw Incubus in 2011 during their tour supporting If Not Now, When?, Young the Giant opened and I was really excited to see both of them live. The guys of Incubus really know how to put on a show. Brandon Boyd’s charisma is absolutely incredible. He fed off the energy of the crowd and at one point he was completely shirtless. *Yummm* “Wish You Were Here,” “Anna Molly,” “11 am,” and “Southern Girl” were some of my favorites from that show. “Oil and Water” has always been near and dear to my heart; I hope they decide to play it during this tour. The new EP, Trust Fall (Side A), has garnered quite a bit of attention and I’m excited to hear it live. “Make Out Party” and “Dance Like You’re Dumb” are my darling tracks from this EP and I’m really hoping they decide to play a couple of new songs from Side B (There’s got to be a “Side B” coming, yes?). 

I’ve never seen Deftones live and I’m quite interested in what they have to offer. I’ve seen them live via — *cough cough* — “legal” festival streaming. I’m not entirely sure … does that count? I’m looking forward to them playing some of their more known classics like; “7 Words,” “Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away),” and “Lotion.” I’m pumped to cross them off my “Shows I Go To” bucket list.

Death from Above 1979 and The Bots are the openers for this tour. I share similar enthusiasm for them as I do for Deftones and Incubus. I’ve seen Death from Above 1979 before so I know what to expect from them … Greatness! I’ve been getting into The Bots music since I was introduced to them via Norman Reedus’ social media (he directed their music video for “Blinded.”). I’ve been waiting a while for them to tour this way and I’m ecstatic about seeing them open for all of these great bands.

Ahhh, so much anticipation! I can NOT wait! 🙂 What a great summer show to go to; different generations of music all in one spot with the same backbone: ROCK! Who would be crazy enough to miss out on this?!
