Where were you when you connected with Pink Floyd for the first time? I never got to see them live, but my high school days were heavily soundtracked by my cassette tape copies of The Wall and The Dark Side of the Moon.

I don’t keep very good track of when Roger Waters wants to play and charge a lot of money for doing so, no matter how often it tends to happen. But if you love Pink Floyd like I do (note: it’s got to be a whole lot) you have a chance to see some live Pink Floyd music in your own back yard. (No, not literally. Still.)

Up next: they’re doing Pink Floyd’s classic Wish You Were Here album over at Hard Rock Live this weekend. Show up with a ticket in hand and you’ll get to hear one of your favorites (or maybe just one of my favorites?) played by a live band, cut for cut, note for note.

I’m listening to this album on my turntable right now. I’m reminded of a question that’s never been answered, not by anybody: why didn’t they call this album “Shine On You Crazy Diamond” instead? There’s 25 minutes worth of that tune on there, after all. A question for the ages.
