If the old adage, ‘Never judge a book by its cover‘, still holds any weight to you than you might not be as excited I am about Folk Yeah! at Will’s Pub this Saturday as I am.

Though, if we were ‘judging a book by its cover‘ or, in this case, ‘a show by its name‘, than Folk Yeah! had me at first syllable. After gazing at the outside cover, you’d open to the index of performing artists and be sold yet again. This novel, er, festival is brimming over with musicians who’ve proven time and time again their gravitas in their respected field.
If you never thumbed past Mike Dunn you’d probably be just as happy with seeing his name, especially given he has his company consisting of CJ Mask – Guitars, Brendan Allen May – Bass, Josh Butler – Drums, Patrick Dunn – Piano & Organ, Andy Simonds – Additional
If you needed anymore reason, well, here’s exactly 10 more reasons to rock the FOLK out this Saturday:
- Kaleigh Baker (AND BAND)
The sister moon herself takes her rightful place on a Will’s stage to bring you her special brand of Mountain Soul stompin’ goodness.
2. Hannah Harber & The Lionhearts
Her voice is special. You don’t sing like this without a serious love for what you do and a couple good stories and scars to go with it.
Just some brothers playing left-handed funk right into your groovy bones.
The duo of Thomas Wynn & The Believers fame are stripping down and strapping up with the same amount of soul as always.
Get ready to get folky.
The homegrown soul spreader is his own unique brand of organic, raw folk music you have to experience to understand.
7. Heather Lee and Jordan Wynn
The melody driven wife and husband duo are here to serve you classic blues and rock. It’s just as nice as it sounds.
8. Laney Jones (solo)
By herself, with a band, the Orlando songtress is a vision in all capacities. Miss Jones is set to invite you into her pop folk world. (thank goodness!)
You’ll know it when you hear it; it will start in your heart and work its way to your feet. Austin Miller is as authentic as they come. His irresistible soft chords and stroking tone give way to chills from the first note.
10. Coopers Craft Whiskey and Lagunitas Brewing Co.
Good whiskey and great beer in support of this hecka packed lineup.
Shake off the turkey induced slumber, hide the Black Friday receipts, and meet down where the good people don’t give no folks! (sorry)
Grab your tickets below and get folky with it! (sorry, again, last one.)
