The Ghost Inside Update Fans After Horrific Bus Accident

by • January 17, 2016

Back in November, fans were informed that The Ghost Inside had been involved in a horrific crash. The incident happened outside of El Paso, Texas. All band members and crew were left in stable condition, but two drivers involved in the crash lost their lives. More information from the band has recently been released. Zach Johnson, Jonathan Vigil, and Andrew Tkaczyk all posted updates on their conditions.

Johnson posted that he was undergoing his eighth surgery on January 11th and that he hopes it will be his last.

Vigil captioned one of his photos, “Scars on my head, a fracture on my neck, a wound on my back, skin graft right elbow and two broken ankles. I’m here.”

on his Instagram, Drummer Andrew Tkaczyk revealed that he lost a leg in the accident. He’s also suffering from multiple fractures and he faces ligament tears in his rotator cuff and labrum.

Despite the devastating incident the band has had to deal with and the aftermath they are still working through, they all remain incredibly positive and hopeful for the future. This is a credit to them, considering how life changing their injuries are. In cases such as this, many would have taken a legal recourse and looked at blogs and articles like the one’s available at this law firms website to seek out the potential remedies available to them. Maybe the members of The Ghost Inside would look to consider it too! However, if anything, their injuries are giving them a firmer resolution to be back with a bang! This is particularly true for Drummer Andrew Tkaczyk, who is determined to be back drumming when he’s strong enough to. In a sense, Tkaczyk is fortunate as for many people, losing a leg would leave them unable to work. Hopefully, disability insurance cover would be in place so that no income would be lost during recovery and whilst they were unable to work. If you are covered, it is important to know the tax implications of disability insurance – a search online for “disability insurance tax deductible” should clear up any queries you may have.

A GoFundMe campaign has been created to help TGI and their families during this traumatic time. There is also a separate GoFundMe to benefit the family of TGI’s deceased bus driver, Greg Hoke. There will also be a legal case being pursued using a law firm similar to as an example, to get to the bottom of the cause and other aspects of the accident. From the incredible efforts of those who have been fundraising over $150,000 has been raised. The band’s label is also offering a helping hand by donating all profits from the sale of the band’s records back to the band to help with costs. If you would like to support TGI you can donate to their GoFundMe or purchase their merch!
