State Champs live review

State Champs Live Review w/ Neck Deep | The Beacham, Orlando, Fl | March 6, 2016

by • March 8, 2016

I have to admit, last minute shows seem to be the best shows. Months and months ago, I remember hearing about State Champs touring with Neck Deep, Knuckle Puck, and Like Pacific. I told myself I had to get a ticket for that show and, of course, what happens is I procrastinate to the extreme and then the show sells out. But by a stroke of luck, the day before the show I receive two free tickets from some wonderful random girl hours away that couldn’t attend (shout out to that girl again this story wouldn’t exist without you).

I have to say this was probably one of the best shows I have ever been to. Every band brought their A-game. I have never seen a crowd so amped up. I knew I was in for a good show the moment Neck Deep performed “Lime St.” Everyone was up on their feet jumping and eating up the energy the band was providing. I had this odd moment of pure awe while jumping with the crowd. You could just feel how enthusiastic and carefree everyone around you was. After Neck Deep’s set, I decided my busted bruised ass needed to retreat from the crowd and head towards the back to watch the rest of the show. Of course, that ended up being a bad decision because the pit just broke out again right where I was, but on a positive note, I got to be apart of a rowboat mosh pit which was quite a sight to see. Thanks for that experience State Champs.

The last band to perform was State Champs and, oh man, do they put on an incredibly show. You could tell every single person there was completely into it, singing their hearts out and dancing to the music. I know most of them were drunk by the crazy amount of high fives I had to give all of them but still, I have never seen so many people come together as one it was quite a breathtaking thing to see. They even got the band to do two more songs because none of them were ready to leave. This show was a prime example of what music is all about.
