Fronted by founding vocalist Kevin Martin, Candlebox exploded with their 1993 self-titled debut, a multi-Platinum album featuring the massive singles “Far Behind,” “You,” and “Cover Me.” “Far Behind,” written in memory of late Mother Love Bone singer Andrew Wood, became the band’s signature song and remains one of the defining rock tracks of the decade. Candlebox followed with albums including Lucy and Happy Pills and songs like “Simple Lessons” and “It’s Alright,” building a catalog that mixes grunge-era heaviness, bluesy hard rock, and Martin’s unmistakable voice.
