On July 28, 2026 The Black Keys brought their Peaches ‘N Kream World Tour ‘26 to the BayCare Sound in Clearwater, FL. Hailing from Akron, OH Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney have become one of modern rock’s most influential bands rising from the underground scene. The tour supporting their new album, Peaches! kicked off in April starting in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Now in its second leg with plans to hit Europe in August. This is a return to The Sound for The Black Keys; they played 97X’s Next Big Thing in December 2023.
All opening acts on this tour were hand picked from Auerbach’s Nashville based, Easy Eye Sound record label. Opening the show was Atlanta, Georgia’s Eddie 9V (nine-volt). They brought a thrilling mix of Southern soul, blues, rock, and funk. The 40 minute set included songs “Saratoga”, “3Am in Chicago”, and “Halo”.
The pit area cleared out after Eddie 9V’s set. It felt extremely empty. The Florida heat index was 95ºF. Standing there with no one within an arm’s length of me, I could feel the sweat pouring down my back. As the time counted down, during the half hour set change, the pit began to fill up. Although it wasn’t a sold out show, The Sound had fans of all ages gathered throughout the 9,000 capacity venue.
The Black Keys kicked off their set at 8:10PM with “I Got Mine.” The crowd erupted in cheers while coming to life. The 20 song set was met with truly amazing lighting that matched the energetic sounds of blues, soul, and garage rock. Their four piece band of touring musicians helped make the band sound huge, as clean as an album recording, and more in sync than ever. The set included covers of songs by The Stooges and Dr. Feelgood. The way Auerbach bent the guitar strings, during solos made the guitar feel like it was an additional limb he was born with.
The main set ended with “She’s Long Gone” off the critically acclaimed 2010 album, Brothers. The Black Keys thanked the crowd for coming out. They left the stage for a few minutes, leaving the crowd begging for more, only to return in true rock star fashion. When they returned to the stage, they played an amazing encore of “Little Black Submarines” and “Lonely Boy,” sending the crowd home happy.
