Unwritten Law was formed in Southern California in the early 1990s and quickly gained a reputation for their high-energy shows and catchy punk rock tunes. Over the years, they’ve released multiple successful albums, including their self-titled album in 1998, Elva in 2002, and Here’s to the Mourning in 2005. Their single “Seein’ Red” from the 2002 album became an instant hit, reaching the Top 40 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. In 2006, Unwritten Law won the San Diego Music Award for Best Alternative Album, and they continue to be a beloved and respected band in the punk rock scene.

Authority Zero, another Southern California-based band, was formed in the early 2000s and quickly gained a following for their unique blend of punk rock, reggae, and ska music, really pushing the sound for what we would now call skater-punk. Some of their more successful albums include A Passage in Time in 2002, Andiamo in 2004, and Broadcasting to the Nations in 2017. Authority Zero has won multiple awards over the years, including the Phoenix New Times award for Best Punk Band and the San Diego Music Award for Best Punk Album. Fun fact: Their music has been featured in popular TV shows like “NCIS” and “Sons of Anarchy”.
