Troy Andrews (aka Trombone Shorty) appeared onstage with Bo Diddley at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival at the age of 4. His new album, Parking Lot Symphony, was released on April 28, 2017, the first day of the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. This guy loves jazz, and his city. The new album has 12 tracks bursting with a myriad of sounds from brass to groove to blues to hip-hop, fueled by unfiltered emotion that is the epitome of music bringing unity.
Dumpstaphunk has been one of my top funk bands since 2007. I first saw them at the Bear Creek Music & Art Festival 2017 at Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, Florida. Dumpsta has played there so many times, it’s like a second home. In fact, you can catch them soon at the Spirit on Halloween weekend for the String Cheese Incident‘s annual festival, SUWANNEE HULAWEEN!

The quintet’s current lineup features Ivan Neville on vocals, B3 and Clav, the double bass attack and soulful voices of Tony Hall and Nick Daniels III, Ian Neville on guitar, and Alvin Ford Jr on drums.
