Hardly do I feel as if I was born in the wrong era. There’s nostalgia, sure. But overall, I have a sense of grounded-ness about the time I’m living now. Such a notion was fine until Will’s Pub latest event came to the forefront. Two nights of 1996. I was only four. How was I to recall such a time of fashion, culture, and phenomenon? 

Will’s sums it up perfectly with this embodiment of the event:

You threw on a choker, tickled your Elmo, and Jamiroquai-ed down to Waldenbooks with a Pepsi Kona in hand to pick up the first Game of Thrones book. According to the author, it was going to be a simple little trilogy that you should be able to read through in just a couple of years.

Phew! It was 1996 and, according to your ring-watch, you only had time to worry about filling your Jansport with Bagel Bites and showing off your bleached tips to your Spice Girls action figures.”

There will even be a Spice Girl themed cocktail to suit all your girl power needs. Yeah, this is going to be awesome … and we haven’t even gotten to the music …

FRIDAY – The Pauses, Overdale, and Expert Timing will perform full cover sets featuring songs by Beck, Rage Against The Machine, Bush & many more!

SATURDAY – The Pauses, Luscious Lisa, and Fictions will perform full cover sets featuring songs by Cake, Weezer, Soundgarden, The Cardigans & many more!

TWO complete nights of ’96 goodness coming to ya! Bust out the fluorescent windbreakers and trek to the club. DJ Prom Nite and DJ Smilin’ Dan will have sets on respective nights to get ya off the old kiester and on the dance floor.
