Every snare drum hit, every strummed string, every note howled into that mic, all stand as supporting evidence of this fact: SWIMM is a goddamn rock and roll band. “Tisk Tisk” is a song that leaves your mouth dangling like an idiot, especially throughout the final sixty seconds of it’s five and-a-half minute duration (listen below).
I spoke to the lead singer/guitarist, Chris, on the phone before their show because they were going to do a filmed interview but it didn’t quite work out. He mentioned that they’re working on new material and to expect a full length this year (which I’m stoked for) and they’ll be up for doing an interview the next time they come to town.
SWIMM has such a tremendously beautiful heart-throbber of a song in “Souvenir.” As Lindsay said last time she saw them (SWIMM Live Photos May 2, 2014), “My heart always melts when the drummer gets up to play the harmonica.” Well, take makes two of us, Lindsay. 🙂
Feel EP (Special Edition) by SWIMM
These two dudes (and they’re touring band) pack a hell-of-a punch and I can’t wait to catch them live again. They’re going to be in Tampa, FL (Ybor City) on February 13, 2015 at New World Brewery (one of my favorite bars/restaurants/venues) and in Melbourne, FL on February 14, 2015 at the Robot Love Festival.
