RICH HOMIE QUAN BLAMES TELEPROMPTER FOR VH1 HIP HOP HONORS BLUNDER
Blasphemous. Horrendous. A travesty. There are many ways people are describing Rich Homie Quan’s screw up of Biggie’s lyrics of “Get Money” while honoring Lil Kim at the VH1 Hip Hop Honors. Quan did issue a statement, but also stated that he “knew it by heart. I told them I didn’t know all the words, and words were supposed to be on teleprompter.” Yeah, ok. But seriously…Alamo??
T.I., DAVID BANNER, RAKIM SPEAK ON AND SUPPORT #BLACKLIVESMATTER
The events of last week involving Alton Sterling, Philando Castile and others have caused rappers to raise their level of consciousness. Atlanta’s own T.I. marched with protestors in his home city, David Banner and Young Jeezy attended a town hall meeting, and even the legendary Rakim made his thoughts known about police brutality.
BROOKLYN HIP HOP FESTIVAL FEAT. NAS AND FABOLOUS TO STREAM ON TIDAL
One of Hip Hop’s biggest festival events just got bigger. Jay Z’s TIDAL streaming service will now stream the final concert of the 12th annual summer music festival for the second year in a row featuring Nas, Fabolous, Talib Kweli, Rapsody and many more. Current TIDAL subscribers will have the opportunity to win tickets to the festival, and all ticket holders wil be given a free three month subscription. TROY AVE RELEASED ON $500,000 BOND
The release comes six weeks after Troy was arrested on charges of attempted murder in connection with the Irving Plaza shooting in New York City. Sadly, it looks like stipulations will prevent him from performing for a while.
