Newbies to the game always have to gain attention and prove themselves. So Kodak Black has taken a bit of a 50 Cent route by proclaiming himself better than two of the biggest Hip Hop legends of all time. Peep the interview and freestyle from his XXL Freshman Class video and you be the judge.

DJ KHALED BECOMES ROCAWEAR BRAND AMBASSADOR

No matter what kind of way you feel about him, DJ Khaled has proven himself a savvy entertainment entrepreneur. Mostly through the intrepid used of Snapchat. And now he’s the Brand Ambassador for Rocawear clothing. And that’s already in addition to being signed to Roc Nation and being part of Beyonce’s worldwide ‘Formation’ tour. God level, indeed.

NEW SCHOOLBOY Q ALBUM TRAILER FOR BLANK FACE LP

Dropping on July 8, Schoolboy Q’s Blank Face LP has a trailer that’s gritty, heartfelt oozing with shades of a powerful indie movie. The California rapper and Black Hippie product is taking his music to a new level, at least in regards to the visuals. Take a peek at the trailer.

FREDDIE GIBBS EXTRADITED TO AUSTRIA ON RAPE CHARGES

Gibbs was arrested on June 2 after a performance on is ‘Shadow Of a Doubt’ tour. He’s maintained his innocence, but a French court in the city of Toulouse is saying he needs to be front and center in Austria. Gibbs had been able to post over $50,000 bail for the previous arrest.

BIG SEAN DONATES $25,000 TO DETROIT AREA HOMELESS TEENS

If Big Sean is nothing else, he’s voraciously charitable. Especially to the city of Detroit. His Sean Anderson Foundation is donating the money to a program at Detroit’s Wayne State University called HIGH (Helping Individuals Go Higher). This comes on the heels of Sean being involved in helping with the Flint Water Crisis. Never let anyone tell you rappers can’t be philanthropists.

GHOSTFACE KILLAH TO TAKE CREATIVE LEAD ON NEXT WU TANG ALBUM

In a move that’s a bit of a shocker, Ghostface revealed that he has been given creative control of the next Wu Tang album project, as well as the reunion, by RZA. He’s also said to be working on a sequel to his classic album from 2000, Supreme Clientele 2. What will this new material from Wu Tang look, sound and feel like? We’ll just have to see what happens.
