Sabrina Claudio had a love for music from a young age. Born in Miami in 1996, she was a bit of an introvert. She is said to have locked herself in her room for hours writing lyrics. By the age of 17, her parents believed in her potential and uprooted the family from South Florida to Los Angeles to help their daughter achieve the success she deserves. “They believed in my dream more than I did at the time,” Claudio admitted in an interview with Forbes magazine. She began by posting clips of her singing to Youtube and Twitter and later released original tracks to SoundCloud where she began to get better recognition for her talents.

In 2016, Claudio independently released her first EP, Confidently Lost, featuring some of her first singles including “Runnin’ Thru Lovers,” and “Orion’s Belt.” In May of 2017, she released two singles in anticipation for her upcoming project, “Unravel Me” which charted #22 on the Billboard Twitter Emerging Artists chart and “Belong to You” which peaked at #2. Claudio began to write and release albums such as No Rain, No Flowers (2018), Truth Is (2019), and Christmas Blues (2020) — then there was silence. As most of us can relate, the pandemic hit our society in ways we could never imagine. What few may not recognize is the type of mental stress it must have had to be an artist, nonetheless an up-and-coming artist during that time. It is said that in the past two years, Claudio didn’t even step foot in a studio. Yet, like other creatives, she took this as an opportunity to create and in May of 2022, she released her newest album Based On A Feeling.

The name of the album, Based On A Feeling, was inspired by a conversation Claudio had that sparked her desire to write again. In another interview with Forbes magazine, she says, “the person told me that every decision I make should be based on a feeling and that the intention behind everything I do should be pure and genuine.” In the same interview, she admits that she does not go into the studio until she’s ready to “make something real.” Yet when she finally felt inspired to write and release her newest album, she was “in heaven” and states her intention behind every session was pure.

Sabrina Claudio will be playing at Jannus Live in St. Petersburg on October 20 (GET TICKETS HERE!) and House of Blues Orlando on October 21 (GET TICKETS HERE!). She will be accompanied on tour with bLAck pARty, a solo-artist who is known for his 2016 debut MANGO. He has gained likes with Complex and Vibe magazine, and has worked closely with famous artist Childish Gambino.
