In a saturated market of DJ’s and EDM based music exists an anomaly named Robert DeLong. An LA based songwriter; multi-instrumentalist and producer (among many other possible titles) just released his first full-length album “In the Cards” on Glassnote Entertainment. Having found worldwide success in 2012 with his Global Concepts EP, DeLong has spent the last few years touring the world leaving crowds awe stricken at his unparalleled and meticulous live performances.
Combining his passion for music and technology, DeLong has transformed an arsenal of video game controllers into instruments that modulate and create fervent sound. Nintendo Wii controllers, joysticks and even steering wheels once used for driving games are run through a MIDI device that carefully effect and shape DeLong’s production. The summation of this technologically infused performance is a one of a kind visual and auditory experience. Amongst the novelty, DeLong often displays his roots as an accomplished indie rock drummer utilizing full drum kits and drum pads on stage.
His new album features a self-proclaimed “eclectic variety” of genres and songs. From deep house tracks with gritty textures to traditional pop/rock compositions featuring DeLong’s infectious voice soaring atop the tracks. “In the Cards” masterfully showcases DeLong’s vast array of capabilities while staying true to his influences and successes.
Catch Robert DeLong crushing his set at The Social on February 26, 2016! He will be joined by the Florida native duo, COLOURS. This rising electro-rock band will pair nicely with DeLong’s musical electricity. Do not miss.
