The one and only PUP, or PUPTheBand, is on the move with their “PUP RETURNS: THANK F***ING GOD” tour! If you know this band, I already know you’re excited. If you’ve never heard of them before, prepare your soul for maximum punk-rock pleasure at a moment’s notice. You definitely need to come see PUP live! Wednesday, September 14th they will be gracing The Plaza Live, near Downtown Orlando (TICKETS HERE!). Not close enough? Friday, September 16th they will be at Jannus Live in Saint Petersburg (TICKETS HERE!). And to sweeten the deal; opening support will feature the groups Palehound and The OBGMs!

PUP (abbreviation for Pathetic Use of Potential) is a Canadian punk-rock band formed in Toronto, Ontario in 2010. Formed by the three childhood friends, the group features bassist Nestor Chumak, guitarist Steve Sladkowski, and drummer Zack Mykula. PUP began like any other highschool band would: little shows and tours here and there. But, in 2014 with their debut self-titled album, they hit the big time. Steadily on the rise with the release of 3 albums and 4 EPs.

Rolling Stone listed the band as one of 2014’s “breakout rock acts.” The band would be nominated for and win several prestigious Canadian music awards including the Juno Awards, the Polaris Music Prize, the CBC Bucky Awards, and many more. (These awards are pretty big deals in Canada, trust me.)

From the first song of their new album, The Unraveling of PUPTheBand, the guys want to show they can create music that has never been heard before. And they succeed beyond a doubt. I have heard my fair share of great punk in my time. And now, I give PUP the official seal of approval. They create an energy from the beginning of the album that carries on the whole way through and leaves you begging for more. Come out and see PUPTheBand rock out the only way they intended. Live!
