I’m going to be honest here, I consider Pierce the Veil to be after my time. My reasoning is because I had already started college. Also, I was recovering from the car accident and Taking Back Sunday was my soundtrack. Now-a-days, I guess one could say I’m starting to be stuck in my ways. I suppose turning 30 may have something to do with it.

I’ve seen PTV at Warped Tour in passing God knows how many times. That’s about it. Fast forward ten years since the band formed. I’m dating a certain guy who also isn’t afraid of listening to some guilty pleasure Spotify playlists; we run across PTV and I’m a little hooked. Misadventures (released May 2016) is pretty dope. “Floral & Fading” is probably my favorite track. Bottom line, I dig the album and am looking forward to seeing it live. This tour, “The Made to Destroy Tour,” is definitely a mix of old and new. I have zero issues with that. Another show in the books for me …

I’m also pumped up for Neck Deep and sort of newcomers, I Prevail, opening this tour. Something about Ben Barlow’s (Neck Deep vox) voice grabs my attention, especially on the acoustic tracks. And of course we all know nostalgia is my on-going theme, so naturally Neck Deep brings me back; not giving a f*ck about being in the pit, rocking out, crowd surfing, not having to adult. I Prevail has been on my radar for a bit now. They’re a little bit heavier, but I love the back and forth and overlapping vocals. I can’t wait to see Brian [Burkheiser](clean vox) and Eric [Vanlerberghe] (harsh vox) sing live. I hope they do a few tracks from their upcoming album, Lifelines (dropping October 21, 2016).
