PREVIEW: Kaleigh Baker w/ special guests Bjorn & Francois | Lil Indies, Orlando, FL | TONIGHT, September 17, 2016

by • September 17, 2016

Kaleigh Baker is a full house. At any point in time, wielding her triple honey vocals above you, still holding the cards in her hands until… just… the right… moment. Then she goes all in. Her hand gets even more stacked this weekend as she brings along Bjorn & Francois to compliment her own talents at Lil’ Indies.

At first it seems the room may not be in the mood for a show. Maybe their weeks’ have already been uncomfortably stuffed like an unconsenting Thanksgiving bird with chatter; from their co-workers, from a partner, from their mother in Connecticut. The last thing they need is another outside force to sully their fifth gin and tonic. Slowly, from the corner comes a crimson cry; a smooth concoction of grit and grace. It sounds like you feel. It sounds like the growl of your stomach during the meeting your boss insisted on having over your lunch break. It sounds like the satin sheets you couldn’t afford. Without realizing, you’re enraptured. You give into the sound, allowing yourself to be tangled gently in Bakers’ warmth. Being shy is for schoolgirls and Kaleigh Baker doesn’t have time for school yard games. Once she opens her mouth, she possesses a room within seconds. She is your Saturday savior and has specially hand picked this month’s artist with careful consideration to give you one hell of a show.

Bjorn & Francois hail from Winston-Salem, NC. Their self-described Delta-Gypsy-Grass and Theatrical-Dark-Folk sound is a luscious pair to Kaleigh’s soulful swagger. The duo consists of Bjorn Jacobsen on Guitar/Vocals and Francois Byers on Keyboards. Ms. Baker would not steer us wrong on this musical journey. It’s with her careful selection that we get a healthy dose of chicken noodle soup for our soul in the form of her and her guests. A show you would skip a meal to afford, is served up for FREE. Come be in attendance and lap it up.
