WHY:

Active in the hip-hop community since 1989, these Detroit fellers have carved out a niche audience (Juggalos) that are as loyal as they are scary. The tour has the duo performing all of the tracks from their 1995 album Riddle Box, and consisted of a number of supporting acts, most of which are on the band’s Psychopathic label.

THE GOOD:

If you enjoy scary clowns and their horrorcore rap while ejaculating diet Faygo root beer, then you were in heaven. ICP put on quite a show, with all the seizure inducing flashing lights, and freakish assistants dressed in animal outfits and B-Grade horror film masks. The “Faygo Showers” are a baptism for the uninitiated, while for others they are the nectar of life.

One other thought — when I was younger, I am quite sure that I was a decent person. Yet, I could not get a girl to talk to me. The large number of girls at this show just proves that there is a lid to every pot. You just have to know what music they like. And get a few tattoos, especially tattoos on your neck. And wear a hockey uniform shirt with scary clowns. And sweat aspartame infused diet root beer. If I had known that the key to meeting girls was to have a chain connecting my wallet to my belt, I would have had the best chain money could buy — connected to my Sears velcro three flap wallet. I still have that somewhere. Not the chain, the wallet.

THE BAD:

The opening band, Cane Hill, seemed out of place. They are heavy in their own way, but the lack of ICP and “Psychopathic Records” references left one wondering if they were at the wrong gig.

THE UGLY:

I had mistakenly worn a good pair of sneakers. They are no longer my good pair of sneakers. My dog growls at them and then pees on the living room floor.
