If you love funk, jazz, and improvisational jams, then surely you know all about New Orleans funkmasters Galactic. They recently announced their “Into The Deep Tour 2016” in support of the 2015 album of the same name. As expected, Galactic embarks on a massive tour to start each year. The annual ritual officially kicks off with a slew of Florida dates beginning Wednesday, January 20th at Freebird Live in Jacksonville, followed by Plaza Live in Orlando on the 21st, Jannus Live in St. Petersburg on the 22nd, and Revolution Live in Fort Lauderdale on the 23rd.

Galactic just got off the big boat, the MSC Divina, which hosts one of the best music festivals in the world, Jam Cruise. It’s a one-of-a-kind music and vacation experience featuring five days of music aboard a luxurious cruise ship. I was fortunate to be on board two years ago and saw Galactic rock the seas. This year’s journey departed from Miami on January 6th, returned on the 11th, and included stops in Belize City and Cozumel. They played not one but two sets aboard the boat and are back on land and ready to funk all of you land lubber’s faces.
This is Galactic’s fifth year in row (since 2011) that they have graced Florida with January shows!
