I’ve heard it was Benjamin Franklin who said beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy. Well, I think Irish Punk Rock and Irish Whiskey fall under that category also. This Thursday you have the opportunity to enjoy all three of these God-sends when Flogging Molly comes to House of Blues Orlando on Thursday, May 7, 2015 (Win Tickets Below).

Lead singer Dave King was born in Dublin, Ireland and is no stranger to playing rock music, citing The Clash and Johnny Cash as some of his greatest influences. When he collaborated with his band mates in Los Angeles, they came up with a fast-paced, fiddle-heavy Celtic sound that quickly developed a strong following. Since then, they’ve recorded five studio albums (with the sixth set to be released this year, following a summer tour with Gogol Bordello after a few warm-up shows, including Orlando).

If you’re coming to the show, be prepared to be part of a serious party. This is the show that all the bartenders at the venue request to work because they know two things:
1. They’re going to make stellar money.
2. There won’t be any assholes at the party. Only good people looking to have a good time.

So come slosh around a PBR or four, yell, shout, mosh in the pit to your heart’s desire, hold your fist up high in the air, and be proud to be an Irishman (or if you’re like most Americans, just use Irish pride as a cute excuse to sling back some Jameson). Trust me, this music is nothing but fun, and I invite you to come partake in the party.
