Reggae dancehall rap legend Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley just released his first album in 12 years. Not since 2005’s Welcome To Jamrock have we been blessed with a new record from the youngest son of Bob Marley. The new album, Stony Hill, was released on July 21st, which also happened to be Damian’s 39th birthday! The album contains 18 tracks that are very personal to him and were produced with laser sharp focus. Stony Hill is a place in Jamaica where he grew up. In an interview with HipHopDX, Damian says “Stony Hill is a place in Jamaica where I grew up, so it’s kind of paying homage to my upbringing. Also, the significance of the place itself is that it’s really on the more confident side of tone, more kind of on the wealthier side of things.”
