Be My Valentine: Bullet for My Valentine Live Review + Photos | House of Blues Orlando, Fl | February 27, 2016

They did it again! Bullet for My Valentine was splendid at House of Blues Orlando on February 27. Every time these guys play they just put on an amazing show. These metal-core mates from Wales put on a non-stopped blood pumping concert from start to finish. This show was part of the “British Invasion Tour” with While She Sleeps, a fellow UK metalcore band from England.  They also put on a great show. The singer was energetic and barely stopped moving except for when he laid on the floor and rolled around for an entire song!

Bullet for My Valentine opened their set with new bassist Jamie Mathias screaming the title of their first single from their latest album Venom, “NO WAY OUT!” The crowd started going nuts from the very second the song started. Two songs in, lead vocalist Matt Tuck yelled “Give me everything you got!” to the crowd. From that point on the crowd didn’t go a song without continuous crowd surfers and moshing. It actually got so bad that the photographers were kicked out of the photo pit a song early because too many people were going over the barricades.

Bullet for My Valentine played through their extensive catalogue as the show went on. In addition to vocal duties, Tuck plays rhythm guitar, occasionally shredding solos in songs like “4 Words to Choke Upon.”  One of my favorite lead guitarists, Michael “Padge” Paget, thrashed the rest of the solos on great songs like “The Last Fight,” “Alone,” and “Scream Aim Fire” — the song that brought the barricades down at their 2008 “Taste of Chaos” show!

Midway through the show, they announced that drummer Michael “Moose” Thomas would not be joining them on this tour because he just had his first child. I hope I get the chance to see him jam again with the band, but for the time being Jason Bowld is taking over the sticks. He did a great job as a fill-in and even had a nice drum solo.

Bullet for My Valentine came back at the end of their set with a two-song encore, starting with “Tears Don’t Fall” and closing out with “Waking the Demon.” They definitely ended the show just as hard as they opened! Along with the awesome music, Bullet for My Valentine provided a great light show which synced to their beats perfectly.

I never pass on a chance to check BFMV out as either a headliner or at a festival because I know they will always rock it. I definitely recommend seeing them as a headliner to feel the true power they bring. With over twenty singles to their name, you will likely get to witness most of them. I’m planning on seeing them at least two more times this year. And I already can’t wait!!
