Imagine a three-way between U2, The Cars, and The Killers … and that baby would be Beta Play! Not to be confused with their former project, Tommy & The High Pilots (see below), Beta Play is coming to Orlando on June 12th, 2015. They’ll be taking the stage at the cozy, dimly lit, BackBooth with folk rockers, The Tragic Thrills (win tickets below!).
Beta Play played on the playground, more like toured with, the likes of the Plain White T’s and Andrew McMahon, to name a couple.
They’re in the midst of producing their first EP under the name, Beta Play. They slaughtered their crowd funding goal within 15 days of announcement and it might seem a little odd that a band go on tour to promote an EP that’s not even out yet, you know. I think it’s out there, but Beta Play’s changing things up a bit on this tour. They’re letting the new songs flush themselves out amongst the crowds they’re playing for, before laying down the tracks in the studio.
Sounds a little ballsy, but what’s the rush in throwing together an EP? These guys are taking their time and producing the best music they can for their fans. It sounds like Beta Play’s going to have a few tricks up their fret boards and drum heads at BackBooth, to make it one hell of a show.
