SCENE AND HERD

The Atom Age – A great band that you should know.

You’re traveling through another dimension, a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind, a journey into a wondrous land whose boundaries are that of imagination. That’s the signpost up ahead, your next stop: The Atom Age.

Imagine, if you will, a 1960’s ice cream shoppe.  Not a single customer is inside, but there is a full staff of employees.  They are busy, busy tending to the customers, although there are no customers.  They don’t notice. Why?

Because The Atom Age.  Click on this link to check out this here video…

There are a few times a year I go to shows and find myself truly surprised by the opener.  I had gone to see Agent Orange but was swept up by the frenetic energy of The Atom Age.

The Farfisa organ ripped right through my head, and I was sold.  Fast, loud, uncontrolled, wild; this is a band that should be playing in the back of the room in a nightmare reboot of any surf-movie beach-party ploy ever committed to film.

I did some research, and it turns out that Dolores lost her virginity in the backbooth of Big Daddy’s.  Plot spoiler, it wasn’t Frankie! (rumor has it that it was Eric Von Zipper … Those beatniks always get the girl.)

Lucky Bastard

The Atom Age is good.  The Atom Age is really good.  The Atom Age is really, really good.  And the law stipulates that you must dance.

I had a chance to catch up with two members of Atom Age.  Please, listen!
